Jamboree on the Air 2015
We will be operating a special event station with the call GB from the Scout Activities Centre located at Nine Ashes which is at Washaway between Bodmin and Wadebridge on both the Saturday and the Sunday.
We are expecting to give around 300 youngsters a taste of amateur radio and the opportunity to make a contact on both VHF and HF.
We will need to be very disciplined indeed to achieve this as each group has a finite time allowed and the next one will be forming a queue whilst we are handling the previous group. Tiring for sure but also great fun.
We will need willing operators with whom contact can be made perhaps on 40m so, if you hear us and can spare a while give us a call.
Nine Ashes is Cornwall County Scouts Training, Activity Centre and Camping site.
Situated approximately 3 miles from Bodmin on the B3266 Camelford Road.
The site consists of 25 acres of woodland, and 5 acres of camping
(with an additional 7 acres added during the peak season, by use of adjoining farmers fields).
The site is part of the private Pencarrow Estate, and is well secluded from the road, and whilst in easy reach of Bodmin & Wadebridge, is very much in an isolated position.
